Born in Genoa in 1966, he lives and works in Milan.

He graduated in Painting Decoration from Istituto Statale d’Arte di Chiavari (Ge) and got a degree in Scenography from Brera Art Academy in Milan.
Between 1989 ad 1992 he worked as an illustrator for different Italian magazines and attended Disney Academy.
Until 2002 he decorated and frescoed interiors and exteriors of different churches and palaces, reinterpreting great baroque decoration elements.


Among public exhibitions:
“Allarmi” (2004) curated by Norma Magione, Ivan Quaroni, Alessandro Trabucco, Irina Zucca Alessandrelli at Caserma de Cristoforis in Como.
“Sirene” (2004) curated by Alessandro Trabucco, a Galata del Mare Museum in Genoa.

In 2006 Maurizio Sciaccaluga invited him at Ars in Fabula at Palazzo Pretorio in Ceraldo (Florence).
The same year was finalist to the Celeste Prize at Marino Marini Museum in Florence.

The following year he was finalist to the Cairo Prize, at Palazzo della Permanente in Milano and Fabbri Prize at Fondazione del Monte in Bologna.
He is part of the art exhibition “Arte Italiana 1968-2007” by Vittorio Sgarbi amd he is included as well in Laborario Italia, a book by Ivan Quaroni published by Johan & Levi.
Milan Town Council selected one of his painting for summer events logo.


In 2008 he frescoed the entire facade of the Santa Caterina’s church in Genoa with stories from the life of the Saint.
The same year he participate in the 4th edition of “Allarmi” art show in Como.
He shows also at Frieze Art Fair in London.
He is present at Saint Petersboug Biennale (Russia) in section curated by Enzo Fornaro and he shows at Beijing 2008 -Artathlos –in China at the Hidian Exhibition Center.
In Shangh he shows at collective exhibit “Masters of Brera” at Liu Haisu Museum

In 2009 he is joining Italian Newbrow Group curated by Ivan Quaroni at 4th edition of Prague Biennale (Czech Repubblic) and at Biennale Giovani at Serrone of Villa Reale in Monza. Como council selected images from some of his works to use in the adverting campaign launch Ex-Co event.

In 2010 he is invited by Mimmo Di Marzio to “Ex Novo” exhibit at the headquarter of Akros Bank in Milan and one of his paintings is printed on a limited edition bag by Henry Cotton’s for the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out.
In the same year he participates in the exhibition “Attention! Border Crossing” at the Contemporary Art Museum of Permm (Russia)


In 2011 the artist is included in the Italian Newbrow book by Ivan Quaroni, published by Giancarlo Politi Editor, he show at the exhibition “Nuovo Profilo Italiano” at Area B spase in Scope Art Fair of New York.
He is finalist at Maretti Prize at Pecci Museum of Prato.
During Salone del Mobile, at Bianconi Gallery in Milan, he presents 12 majolica plates decorated from Gatti workshop from Faenza. This was a four-handed project with Chef Davide Oldani.

He participate in the 54thInternational Art Exhibition of Biennale di Venezia at the Italian Pavillion at Corderie dell’Arsenale, invited by Matteo Ramon Arevalos, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi.
The same year he shows as solo public exhibition Novus Malleus Maleficarum ".in the San Pietro in Atrio church and at the Pinacoteca (picture gallery) "

In Feb 2012 in the same Pinacoteca di Como, he shows together with all the Italian Newbrow group in an exhibition curated by Ivan Quaroni.
The same year he created 8 big boards for Costa Fascinosa Cruise Ship and a set of 16 majolica plates in collaboration with Gatti workshop from Faenza.
He is invited by Luca Beatrice to participate in the exhibition “Popism” 63rd edition of Michetti Prize in Francavilla al Mare.


In July he shows with Italian Newbrow group in the public exhibition at Forte di Marmi’s Fort, curated by Ivan Quaroni, who invites him to participate in the Biennale Italy- China at Villa Reale in Monza.


In November he participate is the exhibition “Homo Faber” at Castello Sforzesco in Milan, invited by Mimmo Di Marzio.
In 2013 he is included in the book “Investire in Arte” by Claudio Borghi Aquilini, published by Sperling &Kupfer.

In 2013, inserted by Claudio Borghi Aquilini in the book "Investing in Art" published by Sperling & Kupfer. In September ushers in a solo exhibition in the Civic Museums of Crema titled Aion curated by Ivan Quaroni. For the musician and composer Matteo Ramon Arevalos realizes fifty figurines of knights who will stage "La Folia" action - concert held at the Teatro San Domenico of Crema.

He was appointed "Ambassador" of the silhouette and design an eyeglass frame. Collaborate with the agency which carries the logo of Blink.

"Back to Saxemberg Island" is the title of the exhibition that held by Antonio Colombo in Milan curated by Arianna Baldoni.

Costa Crociere, in 2014, commissioned him to paint six large panels and six paintings on canvas, reproductions of which will be drawn to the guest rooms of the ship Costa Diadema.

His four works, dedicated to dance, were exhibited at the "Kima" and introduced by Vittorio Sgarbi in Caserta in an exhibition edited by Nicola Pedana.

In early 2015 he became "ambassador" for Italy, for the products company for the fine arts Winsor & Newton and partecipates to 56th Biennale of Venezia with the "Italia Docet" project at Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto.

Since October 2015 is Professor of Painting Techniques at the 'Academy of Fine Arts Aldo Galli' in Como (Italy).

In 2016 he inaugurated at the Labs Gallery in Bologna a personal double with Marcel Dzama.

For the Fedrigoni company produces nine cards that will be sold in Fabriano Boutique stores across Italy.

Personal exhibition "Da cielo a terra", the MEB Jewish Museum of Bologna and he was given the chair of Painting at the IED, Academy of Fine Arts Aldo Galli of Como.

In November, the cosmetics company Gerard's commissioned five illustrations for the Christmas packaging of its products. Cuoghi wins the prize of the Jury of the Pio Alferano Foundation in Castellabbate (SA) with the work "The soul of the garden".


In 2017 he held a solo show at the Francesco Messina Museum in Milan: The Invisible Sun. The exhibition is designed specifically for the space and offers a reflection on design as an autonomous language.


In 2018, in collaboration with the Nava-Arosio and Tessuti Rubelli studio, he paints four Pila47 armchairs that will be exhibited at the Rotonda Appiani in the Villa Reale in Monza. 

At the end of May 2019 he inaugurated "The eye of the Storm", a personal exhibition at the Rossi-Martino Gallery in Hong Kong. In October he inaugurates the personal exhibition "Esuli Pensieri" at the Balestra Foundation in Longiano (FC).

In July 2020 he inaugurates the personal exhibition "Apnea" curated by Elisabetta Sgarbi and with the support of M.Ar:Co at "Le Argenterie" in the "Villa Reale" of Monza.

In 2021 he inaugurates the personal exhibition Submariner at the Civico Acquario in Milan curated by Nicoletta Castellaneta and Ivan Quaroni. Cuoghi participates with the Italian Newbrow group in a public exhibition at the cloisters of San Domenico in Pietrasanta (LU) curated by Valerio Deho and Ivan Quaroni.

In 2022 he participates with two works in the exhibition "Francesco Messina Novecento Contemporaneo" at Villa Torlonia in Rome, dedicated to the contemporary legacy of the sculptor. He is present, with a room dedicated to him, in the exhibition Eccentrici, apocalittico, pop. Hell and delight in contemporary art. at the Civic Gallery of Trento. He participates in the exhibition Acque Chiare, Acque dark at the Civic Museum of Noto (SR) curated by Aldo Premoli and in Savona at the Connexxion Festival organized by the magazine Espoarte curated by Livia Savorelli.

In 2023 he participated in the collective exhibition Fiat Lux curated by Aldo Premoli at the Diocesan Museum of Noto (SR) and held a personal exhibition "Plinio. Effetto Serra" ("Plinius. Greenhouse Effect") at Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio, (CO) on the occasion of the two thousandth anniversary of the birth of the Latin writer.
